COVID 19 Screening Test Frequent Questions
We specifically use the PCR-based NAAT – Nucleic Acid Amplification Test, otherwise known as the RT-PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test. This method identifies the genes associated with the COVID-19 virus, providing the most accurate and sensitive diagnostic test.

RT-PCR Testing. This test is accepted for international travel by governments all over the world.
No. Danner Labs does not provide antibody testing for COVID-19 infection. However, we can refer you to a lab that does perform this service.
The PCR-based NAAT- Nucleic Acid Amplification test is the gold standard test required by most countries and airlines that require PCR-based COVID-19 testing. However, these guidelines and regulations can change on short notice, so please ensure that the specific requirements are checked on the official government website or the travel destination embassy before booking.
Once your sample is tested through our provincially approved, ISO accredited lab, you will receive your results by the email address provided. We will send you a letter signed by our Medical Director and a COVID-19 certificate that will deem whether or not you are eligible to travel or return to work. Please ensure that all the information provided is accurate. If a mistake is found after the documentation has been submitted please contact our lab immediately to rectify the issue.
For regular RT-PCR testing, your results should be received within 36 hours of collection.

Please be advised that by law, COVID-19 is a reportable disease. Legislation and regulation requires that Danner Lab notify public health officials if our accredited lab detects any positive result. Therefore any positive COVID-19 test will be reported to the proper authorities along any necessary contact information. One of our staff will also contact the patient to help them understand their results and explain what steps need to be taken in order to manage their symptoms and prevent the spread of the disease. The patient may be required to self isolate for 14 days.
